This safari starts and ends in Zanzibar. You will have a direct flight from Zanzibar to Arusha then drive to Southern Serengeti (Ndutu), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Combine this spectacular natural event with visits to iconic destinations like Ngorongoro Crater where you will spot the Big Five. The domestic flight from Zanzibar to Serengeti is included, along with an expert guide, meals, a 4×4 private safari vehicle, pick-up and drop-off at your hotel in Zanzibar, and more.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Fly from Zanzibar to Arusha airport/Game drive at South Serengeti National Park (Ndutu)

In the early morning, at 6:00 am (pickup time varies based on your hotel’s location in Zanzibar), our driver will pick you up and take you to the airport for an 8:00 am flight from Zanzibar to Arusha airport. Upon your arrival at 09:15 am, you will meet our driver-guide to begin your game drive.

The Ndutu calving season, a highlight of the Great Wildebeest Migration, typically occurs from late January to March in the southern Serengeti and Ndutu area of Tanzania. This is when over 400,000 wildebeest calves are born, drawn to the lush, nutrient-rich grasslands that emerge after the short rains. The area becomes a nursery for the new generation of wildebeest, attracting predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas.

You will enjoy a packed lunch will be enjoyed at the picnic site inside the park
Dinner will be served at the lodge from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
The game drive will end in the evening from 4:00 pm.

Activity of the Day: Wildlife game drive/ Accommodation: Tanzania Bush Camps – Ndutu Mobile Camp

Rise and shine with a delicious breakfast at 7:00 am, as today marks the end of your safari. You will depart to Ngorongoro crater for a game drive up to the afternoon.

The main attraction of Ngorongoro is its deep, volcanic crater, which is the world’s largest unflooded and unbroken caldera. It’s about 20 kilometers across, 600 meters deep, and covers 300 square kilometers—an awe-inspiring natural wonder. You’ll explore Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, famous for its black rhinos, flamingos, hippos, and other water birds.

Later in the afternoon (after lunch which will be served at the picnic site inside the park), you will drive to Arusha Airport for your flight back to Zanzibar at 4:30 pm. Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport (5:45 pm), our driver will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.
